Cyberattacks are no longer a distant possibility. For many organizations, they are an inevitable challenge that requires preparation, planning, and resilience.
Recently, Dr. John McLain joined the Morning Mix to talk about the work happening at the Georgia Cyber Center and how the Cyber Resiliency Center is helping organizations across Georgia strengthen their defenses against evolving cyber threats.
Why Cyber Resilience Matters
Across the country, cyber incidents are disrupting hospitals, schools, local governments and small businesses. Many organizations simply do not have the resources to build large in-house cybersecurity teams, leaving them especially vulnerable to ransomware attacks and other threats.
The Cyber Resiliency Center was created to help close that gap.
Based at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta, the initiative works with organizations that are critical to their communities, but often lack the cybersecurity resources available to larger enterprises. Its goal is to help them prepare for, withstand and recover from cyber incidents while continuing essential operations.
Supporting the Organizations That Need It Most
The Cyber Resiliency Center focuses on sectors that are frequently targeted and often under-resourced:
-
Rural and community hospitals
-
Local governments and municipalities
-
Public school districts
-
Small to medium-sized manufacturers
Through assessments, planning and resiliency services, the CRC helps these organizations strengthen their cyber readiness and build long-term security capabilities.
A Collaborative Approach to Cybersecurity
The Georgia Cyber Center itself represents a unique partnership between academia, government and private industry, designed to strengthen cybersecurity talent and innovation in the state.
Within that ecosystem, the Cyber Resiliency Center serves as a trusted partner focused on practical solutions and long-term resilience. By combining expertise, workforce partnerships and scalable services, the CRC is helping ensure that organizations across Georgia, no matter their size or location, have access to meaningful cybersecurity support.
Building a More Resilient Georgia
Cyber threats continue to evolve, but preparation makes a difference. By helping organizations understand their risks, strengthen defenses and plan for recovery, the Cyber Resiliency Center is working to safeguard the essential services that communities rely on every day.
