The Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University works with organizations across Georgia every day to help strengthen cybersecurity, but our work doesn’t stop at cybersecurity.
Our team also believes in being part of the local CSRA community and giving our time to local organizations doing important work.
Today, members of our team volunteered with Project Refresh, an Augusta-area nonprofit that provides mobile shower services and other basic necessities to people experiencing homelessness.
Giving Back to Our Fellow Augustans

Project Refresh brings mobile showers, hygiene supplies and other resources directly to people who need them. The organization focuses on meeting people where they are and providing a service that can make a real difference in someone’s day.
Our team had the opportunity to spend time with the Project Refresh staff and volunteers, help with their work and learn more about the people they serve.
For our team, it was a chance to do something a little different from our usual work at the Georgia Cyber Center.
More Than Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is at the heart of what we do. From helping Georgia organizations prepare for cyber threats to providing training and developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, our work reaches communities throughout the state.
At the same time, we’re proud to call Augusta home.
Volunteering locally gives our team a chance to get involved, meet people in our community and support organizations that are making a difference right here in the CSRA.
Supporting Our Community
There are many ways to serve a community, and not all of them involve technology.
We’re thankful to Project Refresh for letting our team be part of their work and for the opportunity to spend a few hours serving our neighbors in Augusta.
The Georgia Cyber Center is proud to support the Augusta community both through the work we do in cybersecurity and by showing up for the people and organizations that make this community home.
