Your Certifications Meet DoD Requirements

DoD Manual 8140.03 requires all personnel in cyberspace work roles to hold qualifying certifications. CompTIA certifications are mapped to DCWF work roles at Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced proficiency levels.

Compliance Deadline Active

As of February 15, 2026, all DoD personnel in cyberspace IT, effects, intelligence, and enabler work roles must be qualified under DoDM 8140.03. If you are in a DCWF-coded position, you need a qualifying certification now.

Security+ (SY0-701)

Qualifies for multiple DCWF work roles across Cybersecurity and Cyberspace IT workforce elements at Basic and Intermediate proficiency levels. The most widely required DoD cyber certification.

CySA+ (CS0-003)

Maps to Cyber Defense Analyst, Vulnerability Assessment Analyst, and Incident Responder work roles. Intermediate proficiency level for cybersecurity workforce element positions.

PenTest+ (PT0-003)

Aligns with Exploitation Analyst and Vulnerability Assessment Analyst DCWF work roles. Validates offensive security skills required for red team and assessment positions.

SecurityX (CAS-005)

Advanced proficiency level certification mapping to Security Architect, Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support, and senior cybersecurity management DCWF work roles.

Network+ (N10-009)

Foundational qualification for Network Operations Specialist, Systems Administrator, and IT Project Manager DCWF work roles across Cyberspace IT workforce element.

Cloud+ (CV0-004)

Maps to System Administrator and Target Network Analyst DCWF work roles. Validates cloud infrastructure security and operations competencies for DoD environments.

MOS/AFSC examples are illustrative; your assigned DCWF work role code determines requirements, not your MOS alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to pay anything out of pocket?
No. Every GCITC CompTIA certification package — including training materials and exam voucher — is priced to fit within your branch's annual CA funding cap. Army soldiers receive up to $2,000 per fiscal year; Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard receive up to $4,500. Your CA benefit covers the full cost.
How quickly will I receive my quote?
After submitting our online form, you should receive your itemized PDF quote via email within minutes during business hours. The quote will list each component (training, exam voucher, materials) as separate line items per CA requirements.
Do I have to be stationed at Fort Gordon to use GCITC?
No. GCITC is an approved CA vendor for service members at any installation. Our CompTIA training materials and exam vouchers are delivered digitally. You can study and test from anywhere. That said, our physical proximity to Fort Gordon means local soldiers can visit us in person for additional support.
What happens if I don't pass my exam or complete within 12 months?
You are responsible for completing your certification within the timeframe set by your branch (typically 12 months). If you do not complete or do not report your results, your branch may recoup the funding from your pay. GCITC sends periodic reminders throughout your completion window to help you stay on track.
Why choose GCITC over an online-only provider?
GCITC offers a 15% discount off CompTIA public pricing — higher than the 9-12% most resellers provide. We are backed by Augusta University, located 9 miles from Fort Gordon, and part of the Georgia Cyber Center ecosystem. When you transition, our network connects you directly to Augusta's growing cyber workforce. Starting July 2026, we will also offer live, instructor-led certification bootcamps.
How does GCITC pricing compare to other CA vendors?
Our 15% discount off CompTIA public pricing is among the best available. For comparison, most authorized resellers offer 9-12% off. A Security+ Complete Package (training + labs + exam voucher) through GCITC costs $980.00 — well under the $2,000 Army cap and significantly less than comparable packages from other providers.
Does GCITC support certifications required for DoD 8140 compliance?
Yes. CompTIA certifications including Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, SecurityX, Network+, and Cloud+ are mapped to DCWF work roles in the DoD 8140 Foundational Qualification Matrix. These certifications satisfy qualification requirements at Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced proficiency levels. EC-Council certifications (CEH, CND, CHFI) will be available soon.
