Atlanta — January 27, 2020

The Georgia FinTech Academy and the Georgia Cyber Center, in conjunction with the University System of Georgia, will host a Cybersecurity Build-A-Thon, a competition to solve problems in the financial services and cybercrime/fraud industries.

The competition aims to highlight Georgia’s impact on the global digital economy by focusing on technology-based innovation. The competition will take place over the next few months with the first registration launching Jan. 27. The competition is open to University System of Georgia students 18 years of age and older.

Students in the contest will select a track, either in the financial services or cybercrime/fraud industry, and will then work in teams to write code with a working proof-of-concept solution to an issue in their chosen track.
