When Anna Freeman joined the Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University in December 2025, she brought with her a passion for storytelling, community engagement and helping organizations make an impact.

Today, that work has earned her recognition as one of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and Augusta Magazine’s Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch.

For Freeman, the honor is both humbling and meaningful. More than anything, she sees it as an opportunity to shine a light on the mission of the Georgia Cyber Center and the people working every day to strengthen Georgia’s and the nation’s cyber future.

A Career Built on Storytelling and Connection

A graduate of the University of Georgia with Bachelor’s degrees in advertising and communication studies, Freeman began her career at WJBF before spending more than a decade at M3 Agency. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations connect with their audiences, build trust and tell stories that matter.

At the Georgia Cyber Center, she has found a mission worth championing.

As Director of Outreach & Engagement, Freeman leads efforts to increase awareness of the Georgia Cyber Center’s programs, partnerships and impact across Georgia and beyond. Through strategic communications, marketing initiatives, events, and community outreach, she helps connect students, educators, industry leaders, government partners, and community members with the opportunities and resources available through the Georgia Cyber Center.

Investing in Georgia’s Future

The mission of the Georgia Cyber Center is personal for Freeman.

As a mother raising her son in the Augusta area, she is passionate about building a stronger future for the community she calls home while supporting efforts that help protect Georgia and the nation. She is also proud to be part of an organization that is helping prepare the next generation of cyber talent and strengthen the state’s cybersecurity posture.

The Georgia Cyber Center continues to serve as a national leader in cybersecurity education, workforce development and public-private collaboration. Through programs that support K-12 students, higher education, government agencies and industry partners, the organization is helping build the talent and innovation needed to meet evolving cyber challenges.

A Commitment to Community

Outside of her professional role, Freeman remains actively involved in the community through volunteer service with organizations like SafeHomes of Augusta and the Ronald McDonald House Charities

Her commitment to service reflects the same values that guide her work at the Georgia Cyber Center.

Recognition That Reflects a Larger Mission

Freeman’s recognition as a Top 10 in 10 honoree reflects not only her professional accomplishments, but also the impact of the mission she helps advance every day.

While she may be the one receiving the recognition, she is quick to share the credit.

“The Georgia Cyber Center is filled with incredible people who are making a difference every day,” Freeman said. “I’m fortunate to help tell their stories and connect more people to the opportunities being created here.”

As cybersecurity continues to shape the future of our economy, workforce and national security, Freeman remains focused on helping more people understand the importance of this work and the role they can play in it.
