This week, the Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University is once again filled with energy, curiosity and collaboration as CyberPatriot Summer Camp gets underway.
Hosted by our resident partner, the Alliance for Fort Gordon, this year’s camp has welcomed 172 students to campus in Augusta, along with more than 30 additional students participating virtually from Atlanta. Together, these young learners are spending the week exploring cybersecurity through hands-on experiences that challenge them to think critically, solve problems and work as a team.
The camp’s incredible growth is another reminder of why Augusta continues to be recognized as a national hub for cybersecurity education and workforce development. This year, the program has been recognized as the nation’s largest standard CyberPatriot Summer Camp, bringing students from across Georgia and beyond to the Georgia Cyber Center to learn more about one of today’s fastest-growing industries.
Building the Cyber Workforce of Tomorrow
Throughout the week, students are diving into cybersecurity fundamentals and exploring topics like network security, cyber defense and digital problem solving through interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and build confidence.
At the Georgia Cyber Center, introducing students to cybersecurity early is an important part of our mission. Experiences like CyberPatriot give young people a chance to discover new interests and see that a future in cyber is within reach.
For many students, this week could be the first step toward a career they had never previously considered. That spark of curiosity has the power to shape futures, strengthen communities and help meet the growing demand for cybersecurity talent across Georgia and the nation.

Proud to Partner with the Alliance for Fort Gordon
The Georgia Cyber Center is proud to serve as the home of the nation’s largest CyberPatriot camp and equally proud to have the Alliance for Fort Gordon as one of our resident partners.
The Alliance has long championed cyber education initiatives that introduce students to cybersecurity and connect them with experiences that can shape their future. Their commitment to K-12 education and workforce development continues to make a lasting impact across our region and beyond.
Collaboration is at the heart of the Georgia Cyber Center’s mission. When resident partners, educators and industry leaders come together, students benefit from experiences that simply would not be possible otherwise. CyberPatriot is a powerful example of what can happen when organizations unite around a shared goal of investing in the next generation.
Augusta’s Role as a National Cyber Hub
CyberPatriot Summer Camp is more than a week of learning. It is a reminder that Augusta has become a place where students can see cybersecurity in action.
As campers work together and tackle new challenges, they are experiencing the collaborative environment that makes the Georgia Cyber Center unique. They are learning in a place where academia, industry and government come together every day to solve problems, drive innovation and prepare talent for careers in cyber.
We are honored to welcome more than 200 students, in-person and virtually, to the Georgia Cyber Center this week and grateful to our resident partner, the Alliance for Fort Gordon, for their continued investment in cybersecurity education.
Because the students filling our classrooms today may very well become the cyber professionals, innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
