The Alliance for Fort Gordon celebrated 120 graduates of its Advanced CyberPatriot Summer Camp last week, on our campus at the Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University, marking another successful year of hands-on cybersecurity education for middle and high school students. 
The week-long advanced camp challenged returning students to strengthen their technical skills through immersive training in Windows administration, Linux, networking, digital forensics and cyber defense. Students worked in teams to solve real-world cybersecurity challenges while preparing for future education and careers in one of the nation’s fastest-growing industries.
Graduation concluded with an awards ceremony where Major General Mark Miles presented trophies and certificates to top-performing teams and individual students.
Advanced CyberPatriot Camp Builds on Students’ Cybersecurity Skills
Unlike the introductory CyberPatriot camp, the Advanced CyberPatriot Summer Camp is designed for returning students who are ready to take the next step in their cybersecurity journey.
Throughout the week, campers tackled more advanced technical challenges while strengthening problem-solving, teamwork and critical thinking skills. The experience gives students a deeper understanding of cybersecurity concepts while exposing them to career paths that support business, government and national security.
CyberPatriot Summer Camps Continue to Grow
Since launching in 2019, the Alliance for Fort Gordon’s CyberPatriot Summer Camps have reached 1,450 students. 
The program has grown from 72 students in its first year to 332 students this summer. In 2026, that included:
- 212 students in the standard CyberPatriot Summer Camp
- 120 students in the Advanced CyberPatriot Summer Camp
- 45 students participating remotely from Georgia State University in Atlanta
By offering the camps free of charge, the Alliance removes financial barriers and gives students across Georgia and neighboring states access to cybersecurity education that prepares them for future opportunities.
Preparing Georgia’s Future Cybersecurity Workforce

The Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University is proud to support programs that introduce students to cybersecurity careers while strengthening Georgia’s talent pipeline. Through partnerships with organizations like the Alliance for Fort Gordon, the Georgia Cyber Center helps connect education, industry and government to develop the skilled workforce needed to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals.
